Introducing Ivy

Ivy was pulled from the shelter in her final red listed hours. She has been now with her foster mom for a few weeks and this is what she has to say about Ms. Ivy…

From Ivy’s foster mama:

Happy Saturday! I just wanted to give you an update on Ivy and some notes we have so far: 📝

Ivy is an amazing house guest. 🏡 She doesn’t go anywhere she’s not supposed to and has zero interest in going into our stuff. She does not have any tendency to chew or destroy anything.

She is 💯 housebroken and knows how to go outside through the dog door on her own to take care of her business. 💩

While she isn’t crate trained completely, she loves sleeping, eating, and laying in her crates. We have closed them while walking around and she’s fine, so if someone wanted to keep her crate trained, we think she will be a quick learn. 🐾

She rides extremely well in the car. 🚙 While she will pop up on occasion to see what’s going on, she will lay back down and go to sleep. She is good to stay in the back or up in the front. Either way, she’s good!

Healthy relationship with food/treats. 🦴 She loves her food and treats, but she’s not obsessed or interested enough in them to guard any of it.

Great on a leash and good for running. We run every morning for 3-5 miles. She loves every minute of it. 🦮

Her recall is superb. She is very alert and as soon as you move, she’s definitely aware and ready to come. If she’s not nearby, the minute you call her, she will be right there. 🐶

Sits and waits when getting ready to get leashed or goes to “lay down” until ready. We’ve had dogs in the past that are just so overly excited that they can’t focus and have to move about, but she is patient and waits. 🐕

However, I do need to make you aware that she is not getting on with my mom’s dog. ☹️

** Please note: West Coast Boxer Rescue does not adopt female dogs to homes that already have a female dog.
